Information about the study

If you are interested in participating in this study, please select the button below that matches with the type of prosthesis you use.

Researchers from the University of Washington, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Hanger Clinic are conducting this study to learn more about the attention or mental effort needed to use a prosthesis (or artificial limb). Our goal is to develop a new questionnaire to measure prosthetic attention. We hope that this questionnaire will allow clinicians and researchers to better understand the experience of using a prosthesis

We are looking for volunteers who use a prosthesis to help us identify the types of questions that tell us most about the attention needed to use a prosthesis. Results of this study will help us determine which questions are best for measuring prosthetic attention and assist us in making a short, meaningful, and easy-to-answer questionnaire

If you agree to participate, you will be asked to complete an online survey. The survey will ask questions about you (such as your age and education) as well as questions about your amputation, your prosthesis, your health, and the attention needed to use your prosthesis. The survey will take you about 30-45 minutes to complete.

Taking part in this study is voluntary. You can stop at any time. You may refuse to participate and you can stop at any time without penalty or loss of benefits. Your responses are confidential. We will assign an identification number to the study information you provide to us.

If you are eligible to participate and complete the survey, we will send you a check for $40
